How it works

Spot keeps a map of about 137 million U.S. addresses, 19 million of them apartments or units. When a driver types an address and unit, Spot's server finds that unit and sends back where it is, with the outline of its building. Big complexes often file units under several street numbers, so Spot also checks the neighbouring numbers, and asks the driver when a unit is in two places.

Drivers make it better: they confirm pins, move wrong ones and mark apartments the map misses. When three drivers agree on a spot, it's on everyone's map.
